The Charlotte Amtrak station is located near downtown and it provides daily passenger rail service on the North and South lines, which access most of the United States. Service includes the Carolinian/Piedmont train to New York, with stops in Raleigh, Richmond, Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Philadelphia.
