IADR Implantology Research Group (IRG) Student Research Fellowships

Deadline: February 1, 2014!

You and your students are invited to submit a research proposal for the 2014 IADR Implantology Research Group Student Research Fellowship. The Fellowship, supported by a generous gift from Nobel Biocare, is sponsored and administered by the IADR Implantology Research Group. This fellowship has been created to encourage dental students to consider careers in oral health research related to the topic of oral implantology. Proposals are sought in either basic or clinical research related to implant research. Up to $5,000 award is available for the accepted research proposal.

Eligibility:

Pre-doctoral (undergraduate: dental students) and post-doctoral (graduate: Masters of Science, Doctoral or PhD candidates) students currently enrolled in a postgraduate program in dentistry and related disciplines or those who completed their training no more than 18 months prior to the 2014 General Session are eligible to apply.  Candidates MUST be an IADR IRG member.

Review:

The IRG Awards Committee will coordinate review of the proposals. Each proposal will be evaluated on its scientific merits. Each reviewer will give a numerical rating to each proposal, and the scores of all reviewers will then be averaged to give an overall priority score, which will be used as the basis for funding. Awards will be made on the basis of creativity of the project, its feasibility, and its potential significance to oral implant research.

Criteria for Evaluation:

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

• Presence of a testable hypothesis
